A man has scoped out your neighborhood and even though he knows you have a home security system, he knows he can get in and out in enough time to evade the police. He also knows that the woman of the house is usually home alone during the day and she doesn’t pose much of a threat to him.
He goes up, knocks on the door under the guise of delivering a package and the woman turns off the security alarm to go ahead and open the door without setting it off. Knowing his is now in the clear, he pushes his way in and goes about his doing what you he set out to do…
It’s kind of a scary thought but this is something that can and no doubt has happened.
The other issue with these systems is that you usually have to pay a monthly fee for the added protection. It can be costly and it’s one reason why many people unfortunately opt out of them.
